Luton log from Thursday August 24th 1972

An interesting afternoon on the Midland with 6 different 47’s quite a high figure, plenty “Peaks” though too! I hung on for the evening “Crompton” and was rewarded with a cop “slim Jim”. You had to be quick to get the “Crompton” at Luton and you on seeing it approaching on the down fast would run down Midland Road to get the beasts number by the Hitchin Road bridge before the 33 set back to the headshunt….Memories!
