Thanks to “Red Cow” for a few Morrocan bits plus a phot from his South Korean bash chasing these noisy beasts!
loads more at 2026 for GT26 | 87015aewn
2026 seems to have become the year of the EMD GT26, 16-645 turbocharged booming big GMs, which i’d have one of in Croatia years ago and an SD40 at IRM and now have had a few more of the export / license variants in different environments.
ONCF DH locos work between Fes and Oujda as well as Fes and Beni Ansar on long distance services (there are no local trains!) whilst we did a week in South Korea based on spinning the 7300 and 7400 series locos which retain work in pockets as the countries ongoing electrification sees a slow dwindle in work. Both places finally getting off the to-do list into life.

DH367 at Oujda with the 0750 Casablanca which it will work to Fes. This is a 1976 EMD built loco, nice to have one of the original builds

ONCF DH414 departs Taourirt with the 1220 Oujda – Casablanca additional. This is an outrageously young loco, being built by TZV Zagreb in 2013! This class was originally for high speed line construction then used to displace most of the older locos from top link work between Oujda and Fes

DH427 at Taourirt having run round the 0610 Casablanca – Beni Ansar to lead LHF for the last two hours. These trains are the only long hood work as they cannot turn the engines at Beni Ansar, being a recently built route they presumably deemed it not required to provide a wye at the far end

DH417 arriving into Taourirt with the 0610 Casablanca – Beni Ansar

DH374 (technically a DH370 geared for 140kmh) at Oujda for the 5h45 run through to Fes working the 0750 Oujda – Tangier where it arrives at 1840. Morocco is somewhat bigger than I thought as the trains don’t exactly stagger around either!

Photo stop at Oued Amlil for DH374. The timetable isn’t the most conductive to moves as this was to cross the first eastbound service which doesn’t leave Fes until 1030

7379 ready to start the bash at Yongsan (Seoul) with the 0725 Iksan. These are 1989-1996 built at Hyundai and down to the last few left in traffic, we were well pleased to get six. There are also some low geared 75xx which are only supposed to work freight trains.
Thanks again to “Red Cow” for the impressive GT 26 bits!
