The inagural local 350’2 operation was on December 8th 2008 with 350236 working 1W98 0747 Northampton – Euston. These units cramped 3 x 2 seating configuration and that they pushed out a good few of our much loved 321’s never made them popular with enthusiasts. Add that the seat covers over the years became tatty and grimy didnt help their popularity with the “normals” either.
The introduction of shiny, bright class 730 units saw the 350’2’s go into store at Wembley Yard from late 2024. Well the 18th and 19th December saw the final in service 350’2 turns, no vast crowds doing them, just a quiet almost unnoticed exit after 17 years of reliable service. Will another “TOC” take on the 36 strong 350’2 fleet, i have ma doubts!

37407 has been busy moving the off lease 350’2’s from both Northampton and Wembley storage sidings, here’s the large logo machine growling through Leighton with 350240 and 350241 (the last of the Wembley stored units) on December 23rd 2025
