My Moves for the day.
The bus from work in Dunstable had to be on time to make the 1650 Euston – Northampton “Cobbler” off Leighton. As usual Dunstable’s horrendous traffic delayed it but to my surprise i did see the 1650 storm non stop through Leighton on the DF. Checking with Railman Graham he advised that the 1650 had to set back from Leighton DS platform after arriving right time due to a blockage in the Stoke Hammond area. Once set back to Ledburn (1 mile plus), she was switched to the DF to storm through non stop!
86435 on the following 1723 Euston – Northampton soon droned in on the now reopened DS for a Bletchley bail. Here the rare sight of 4D62 (Willesden – Holyhead) liners whistling North with 20070/20072 dragging a dead 37003 and heavy liners North. With a “can” on the 1744 ex Euston “Cobbler” it was a mileage move to MK and back on 317322.
1N25 the 1815 Euston – Northampton, as hoped for, produced in the Network roarer 85003 so we enjoyed the 19 miles of “roarer” action to Northampton for another 317 home after a swift beer at the Black Lion

85032 is stabled in Northampton bay on June 13th 1987, locos off Cobblers regulary stabled here before working van trains.
