1. Apologies!
aI did not note departure times of the trains from Grantham which did not change locomotives.
b) the timings regarding freight services are only apporoximate since I do not posseess Section A Freight WTT for relevant date.
2) 1A29/1A40 – tis was a rarity+- the only times we usually saw 64B Pacifics on service trains (apart from the Summer dated non-stop “Elizabethan) was post-visits to Doncaster Works. 60161 is shown to have left works on 06/07/61, so I would have expected it back at 64B well before the 22nd.
3) 1A26 – Thornaby V2s were not exactly “ten a penny” either!
4) 1A17. TCQ =Tyne Commission Quay – the timekeeping of the train was totally dependent on the ferry from Norway!
5) Also noteworthy is the number of V2s on display – yes they were often used as though they were Pacifics but 11 different ons in under 6 hours…..
6) What more can one say – sometimes in the early afternoon on Summer Saturdays, KX was desperate for motive power!!
