5M43 Southall – Carnforth emcars, April 22 2026
A very unusual ECS move from Southall to Carnforth saw 57012 stop at Crewe’s platform 6 mid afternoon on Wednesday April 22nd. The first 4 vehicles (and rear) of the 13 coach consist were in normal operating condition, the remaining 8 Mk II’s were in an extremely rough state with graffiti and smashed windows.
Obviously there was a good deal of interest from cranks and normals in a train that looked it had emerged from a film set…
