84003 cut up at Vic Berrys Leicester 0386, another rare piece of North British engineering confined to scrap..
Thanks to Jim Burton for thus rare 84003 performance log from the Summer of 75. A case perhaps of the motive power mattered per se and the performance was nigh irrelevant. The following falls into that category – my only run behind a Class 84!! I was bound for the North Wales Coast and 1M41 had already produced 40083 (YK) much to my satisfaction.
Having arrived at Stockport there was no loco to work the Shrewsbury portion!
Festering for some 30 minutes on Stockport platform proved to be well worth the effort when at last the loco turned up!!
