Angus Loco hauled June – Sep 1990

Sprinter shortages primarily South of the border saw a fair bit of loco hauled activity North of the border. A short lived 4 month turn from June-Sep 90 saw loco haulage return to the long lost loco hauled 1705 Perth – Arbroath haunts like Balmossie. Power for the Summer 90 turns was a Perth “kick out” but the hoped for “solid 26” never really happened as listed below.

Still these hauled turns generated much “nb” action with 26010/26014/26024/26025/26028/26035/26038/26039 representing the “small Sulzers” plus 47359 not forgetting 47604 the “big Sulzers”.

Angus loco hauled “Phot Spot”

 37152 arrives at Montrose with 2Y46 1808 to Perth on June 20th 1990.

 “26038 with the outward run heading north at little Golf Street Halt. We did a 47 south to Carnoustie and walked to Golf St Halt to head back north on the 26. The date was Friday 17 August 1990”. Thanks to “MIB”

 26038 had just 9 minutes to run round at Montrose in the loop North of the station. A rush to join the train from photters as 26038 arrives back in Montrose to work the 1808 to Perth on Friday 17 August 1990. Thanks to “MIB”
