January 85 saw severe snow in parts of the Highlands and a good few 37’s boilers couldnt cope so the old order returned. Here 26008 and 26040 steaming nicely wait time at Ardgay with the 0630 Inverness – Wick/Thurso on January 30th 1985

“Month of the farce” was what Circuit called the Kircaldy DMU substitute hauled workings in August 1986. 7,800 class 26 miles were worked that month including 26011 at the blocks after working the 0831 Kirkcaldy – Edinburgh on August 21st 1986

Every picture tells a story, we were heading North on 47156 on the 0615 ex Edinburgh and i said we shud stay on to Kirkcaldy as the 0620 Dundee – Edinburgh is always late. My mate said its not worth it so we bailed at sleepy Kinghorn to be rewarded with 26026 and 27005 on the 0620 right time! on December 11th 1985

More Kirkcaldy fun and games, 26031 at Dalmeny with a caped 0836 Edinburgh – Kirkcaldy after 26031was low on power on August 21st 1986. A short wait and 26011 returned us South on a Kirkcaldy – Edinburgh, happy days!

Lots of long lost features in this image of 26034 and 26040 awaiting the tip with the 0848 Inverness -Aberdeen on August 2nd 1983. Lochgorm were very short of 47s the then booked power for the Inverness – Aberdeens with 26030 and 26043 working the 1048 Inverness – Aberdeen, happy days “over the top!”
