Class 319/730 transition week Dec 16th – Jan 26th 2024

319433 and 319457 made the last powered 319 run locally on December 19th 2023. This pair had been out of use in Camden CS since the last passenger working on November 27th 2023. They returned north from Camden to Northampton as 3N19 emcars…

On January 24th 37884 dragged 319457 and 319433 on their final journey from Northampton to Newport Sims and are photted here passing Linslade allotments, a sad sight in the early morning gloom

We believe 319214 is still at Northampton depot with a scrapmove coming soon no doubt..

Thanks to Craig Ross for the following 730 gen, 16 have now worked in passenger service locally…

New units (except overtime ban weeks) normally produce a new unit or two weekly. Heres newie 730005 and 730014 at Tring having worked the 1624 ex Euston on January 23rd 2024. Performance wise these units rapid acceleration are braking records locally despite their 90 mph max speed, they seem popular with “normals” too….
