Class 33 Crompton first runs

My first clear memories of Cromptons were them appearing light engine every evening at Luton for the cement empties from Dunstable to Northfleet in the early 70s to lines of them on Hither Green depot on Sunday afternoons.

Bashing these fine machines saw a good few raked in on the famous London Bridge commuters and on Bath – Bristol leaps. My last one, 33206 was raked in 17 years after my first one 33021 in March 77, great fun chasing these superb, much underrated locos.
