A 1000-1600 hour session at a warm, sunny Clink Road Jn, East of Frome Somerset
This is where the Frome and Whatley Quarry leave the main line from Westbury to
Taunton. Freight traffic was obviously mainly stone from Whatley and Mereheads vast
quarries plus 33014 on the Fawley – Tiverton Jn oils.
Passenger traffic may have included some reliefs as Easter Monday was the day before
A spartan Weymouth – Westbury service appeared to include a 117 DMU and 31165.
I was there to see Westerns and it was a good day for them with 9 viewed, 6 of them on
passenger too. A total of 28 locos were seen, pretty good!
