Recreating them memories , Bury South on June 28th 2024
2 hugely enjoyable days at the epic 4 day East Lancs Summer Gala. Personally the best thrash came from 24054, 25279 and 7076. 40012 suffering from a “burst turbo” (apparently) still delivered the memories.
The extreme heat of the previous days fortunately evaporated, all locos were driven in full thrash mode, the trains were busy, but no nasty wedges. Good to see Type 2s on many trains something some other preserved lines seem to shun.
A big thanks to the East Lancs staff, a largely sociable bunch…
