The Aberdeen – Kings X overnight deposited me South from Cupar with me leaping at Peterborough. Here on a dull, grey morning an equally dull 47210 was flagged as the Kings X commuter power.
A cart to Leicester from where the Skegness bound “bombs” were raked in to Nottingham. The “ned” mileage move from Beeston raked the 2nd pair in before heading for Newark to rake in the newly loco hauled Newark – Cleethorpes services with 31’4 power asexpected.
Afternoon and evening “goyles” took me to out of the way loco hauled haunts like Seamer, Church Fenton and sleepy Micklefield.

47411 on the early up ECML overnight deposited me at Peterborough followed by a lively Cravens DMU ride across the misty, early morning Fens. On arrival at Cambridge i fell onto biggie 37019 on the 0753 Cambridge – Kings Lynn.
I had to exit from the lead coach of 37019 as required 47115 arrived on a Lverpool St commuter service. I had to run the full length of Cambridge’s immensely long platform and collasped into the lead coach of 47115, Adidas bag still swinging on my arm!
37019 was raked in on her return from Kings Lynn whilst later in the afternoon 47311 was taken as a guarenteed winning 47, rather than risk the expected big “syphon” on the 1650 Liverpool St – Lowerstoft. 37019 also returned for a few more miles in the early before 47115 returned me to Liverpool St.
As the last hours of the “All line” rover ebbed away on 310076 and 310090 on the 2230 Euston – M.Keynes, the last “All line” event was at Watford Jn with 85010 dragging a very dead and late 81001 on a Manchester – Euston
