Leighton Buzzard log, Aug 4th 1973

L.Buzzard Saturday 4th August 1973 (0920-1210)

An interesting morning at Leighton. Being a Summer Saturday there

were a good few Summer dated trains mostly “roarer” hauled. No freight

all passenger trains except for a Vans and light loco moves.

The highlight being Crompton 6583 arriving and terminating with a “zooex”

 from Gillingham, wonderful!

Phots

33063 looking good at Eridge prior to working the 1930 to Tunbridge Wells on October 19th 2018

85018 arrives at Leighton with an evening Cobbler on October 23rd 1985. Platform extension and associated clutter since this phot was taken has made photting here difficult but as there is little interest in todays plastic WCML passenger power it hardly matters

After 85020 had failed at Leighton with 1O28 0749 Liverpool – Dover 86425 on the following service buffered up and pushed the failed train and her own to Watford Jn where 47612 replaced the “roarer” on June 7th 1986

A thin cover of fresh snow greets 87001 with an up Wolves at Old Linslade on January 28th 2004

end.
