Midsomer Norton and the S n D closed on March 7th 1966. Here on one of the excellent station info boards is a Hymek on a demolition train, North British 63 ers also worked these demolition trains

This got a bellow the bus tour passed my grandparents old house, many memories including viewing from this upstairs window a pair of Hymeks on a special on the Welton line in 1966!

Our walk down the trackbed to Radstock took us past Norton batch, but Paulton Batch looks as if the mine closed yesterday rather than in 1964!
As the day draws to a close, D1120 had failed so the 03 and 08 work the last trains of the day in style..
