Cromptons at New St 1975-1987, The list
33110 at New St, 070882
Class 33 “Cromptons” were never common visitors to Birmingham New St but occasionally produced on Inter Regional services from the Southern, particularly on reliefs. They became regular visitors on Fridays and Sundays from May 82 – May 84 working North on 1E22 on Fridays, stabling at Banbury until Sundays when the 33 returned South from New St on 1O92.
Below is a list of service trains, adexs and railtours that have seen “Crompton” action by individual loco. (Troop trains and VSOE not included ) The list runs to 88 different “Cromptons” with just 10 as yet not confirmed as visiting New St on a passenger train.
