“On the Mid” July 83
3 days on a “Midland railtourer” rover ticket which for a few pound offered virtually unlimited travel Birmingham-Crewe-Nottingham-Derby-Leicester-Northampton and beyond. This is a good example to dispel those who thought it was “wall to wall” nb in Summer, a good bit of xb/xe power was out, several bowl outs but the usual crop of “biggies” to keep us happy!
