Desperate Dave’s gen quote for the 0918 Crewe – Glasgow of 85011 was spot on! When 85011 roarered into Crewe 20 minutes before departure time, the driver wasn’t happy, down went the loco’s pan and down went our hopes, but no fault found and 85011 roared North in style on August 24th 1990.
