25063 thrashes out of Newport with a Crewe – Cardiff service on January 20th 1977
Below is the fairly thin list of boilered class 25’s i raked in during my 3 years at Swansea Uni. The 25’s were regular performers on the Marches on duties that could also produce class 46 or 47. The boilers always seemed reliable and the thrash on ,Load 5 on tight timings…Superb!
Nominally Crewe based some were less common like 25063, whilst the more common 25042 was flagged many times!
Our Walsall based correspondent Dave Spencer spent many years bashing and photting Marches power and some of his excellent boilered rat phots are listed below. Hope they stir some Marches memories!
