The Euston drags April 1 and 8 1984

Local drags remembered – April 84

For 2 Sunday mornings there were booked drags in and out of Euston which unusually were worked by class 25/31 drag power with no type 4/5 involvement. Up trains were dragged from nr Willesden PSB to the foot of Camden bank. Down services were dragged from Euston to Willesden PSB. Local 310 units terminated at Wembley Central for an augmented DC (still 501’s) forward, some 501 turns were non stop Euston – Wembley on the DC, all rather riotous!

Adding a drag loco at WN and then removing it outside Euston caused considerable delay and we were gutted to pass the 1100 Euston-Wolves on Camden bank rather than being on it..

 More “peds” the rare 31289 dragging 87027 “The Wolf” , on the 1245 Euston-Glasgow. 31170 is behind on the 1255 Liverpool. Both “sevens” have their pans up for eth prior to departure on a cold April 1^st.

 25256 drops down as allocated to work the 1350 Manchester and a few bashers who add been festering some hours for her. Sadly 86208 on the 1350 Manchester didn’t need its booked drag engine as the power was restored early on 010484
