Up Scotland, Aug 2026

A few days in North East Scotland mainly centred on the superb Caledonian Railway Gala with various Scotrail moves on 158’s, trams and the Sleeper South. Most trains were right time, though we missed the HST failure on the Friday between Portlethlen and Stonehaven which took several hours to shift. The trams replacement by 222’s is expected to begin in Autumn 2027, the end of an era North of the border.
