Up Scotland, Feb 2023

A few days on a Highland Rover based in Inverness. The highlights 2 x ED on S25, 4 new shacks Attadale, Inverness Airport, lonely Kildonan in Caithness and Kintore near Inverurie. The scenery despite very little snow was as magic as ever. A nice ending with old Banbury commuter engine 67023 on 1M16 back to Edinburgh.

With the regular 67023 on exam, substitutes 73966 and 73971 at Inverness with an on time arrival of 1S25 on February 6th 2023 

158715 would not take power going forward from Plocton. The Kyle bound service was caped here and the 158 returned as a 1220 Plockton – Inverness

The following 1056 Inverness – Kyle did make it to Kyle!

43179 at the newly opened Inverness Airport station with an Aberdeen service. The already busy station has a surfaced, lit 12 minute walkway to the airport terminal

158706 leaves Kildonan (a winning shack) with the 1041 Inverness – Wick. Once the 158 had left the only sounds were the rushing Helmsdale river and a buzzard calling….Fantastic!
