Up Scotland June/July 2021
My first trip back to Inverness since lockdown in March 2020. The Caledonian Sleeper was used both ways with a couple of 158s and HSTs raked in on local services. Sundays remain a no go day for Scotrail services currently but at least the Sleeper strikes have finished at least for the time being.

92038 roaring deeply brings the ECS of 1S25 Euston – Inverness/Fort William/Aberdeen “Caledonian Sleeper” into Euston, 92018 was the Northbound power on June 29th 2021

The Drivers of 1S25 “Caledonian Sleeper” from Euston are deep in conversation as their power from Edinburgh with 66738 and 73971 looking good on June 30th 2021

A very different Euston – Inverness Sleeper then called the “Royal High;ander” arrive at Inverness with 5330 and 5344 up front on July 30th 1972

Warm sun at Tain as 158717 arrives with the 0802 Wick – Inverness on July 1st 2021

43151 tails a Glasgow service out of Inverness passing Lochgorm depot on July 1st 2021

Semaphores survive here at Kingussie (and Newtonmore and Dalwhinnie) and the road is set as 158724 and 170405 with the 1046 Inverness – Edinburgh on July 3rd 2021

43138 leaves lonely Carrbridge (43035 up front) with the 1727 Inverness – Glasgow on July 3rd 2021

No Scotrail trains on July 4th just the LNER and sleeper services carrying passengers, a few shunts of 158’s and 170’s and that was your lot!

08648 outside Lochgorm depot on Sunday July 4th 2021

66743 with 73971 on 1M16 2026 Inverness – Euston “Caledonian Sleeper” on July 4th 2021. 92020 took over at Edinburgh for a storm South down the ECML (including non stop through York at 5am) to Wembley yd then 92018 from Wembley to Euston. 4 locos these days on a service train is quite a high number!
