The long awaited reopening of the Oxford – Bletchley line, hopefully in 2025, will once again see Railtours rumbling over the much rebuilt flyover.
Heres a selection of Railtours crossing the mighty flyover over the years

Taken from Bletchley station footbridge 47489 returns an LNER Railtour from Oban over the flyover to West Ruislip on May 2nd 1983. The 47 had replaced an 85 on the short electrified stub of the North end of the foot of the flyover, rare track for an electric by 1983!

Peaks occasionally produced on the flyover on the Wolverton ARC but were rare on tours over the flyover. 45121 heads West on a frosty January 21st 1984 with the Mendip Artificer tour bound for Cranmore. Full Report on this tour here with more phots here

Steam heat on the flyover, 25042 and 25083 worked the Coventry – Marylebone leg of the Capital City Transfer tour on April 14th 1984. This tour famously stormed through Amersham at 70mph plus! Full Report with more phots of this tour here

Flyover Railtours offer unique views of Bletchleys railway landscape on April 14th 1984, the extensive stone sidings (then served from Peak Forest), the ECS of the “Milk Empties” and 2 25s on the holding sidings, plus an 86 spare in the parcels dock

56046 approaches Bletchley with the Mothball Railtour on May 29th 1993 working from Waterloo to Bedford via Oxford and Bletchley. This was the last loco hauled railtour to work from Oxford to Bletchley via the old Varsity line. Full report with more phots of this tour here

Reopening of the Flyover with a short section relaid to Newton for reversing engineer’s trains saw a few Railtours return to the flyover.Heres 66085 tailing the Concrete Cow Railtour on January 21st 2012. Full report with more phots of the tour here
